The Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC) kicks off the new year on a high note with new additions, as part of its product launch showcase for winter 2019. Taking place in a multitude of showrooms scattered throughout the exhibition space, the event showcased the “latest newsworthy lines and collections” from Century, Shade Store, Habachy, Showroom 58 and over a dozen other brands. The showcase is the first in a modest series of events at ADAC, which will continue next month with the Atlanta Center for the Decorative Arts Digital Day (February 27).
In the participating showrooms, vibrant hues and whimsical patterns prevailed. The Shade Store featured a collection of Roman shades, draperies and cornices by interior designer and TV personality Nate Berkus. For this particular collection, Berkus took inspiration from his past travels and incorporated that inspiration into the minimalist prints. Her collection of roller shades takes a laid-back take on southern chic, bathing the room in a glow that still lets light filter through the stripes of the curtain.
“I wanted to create sophisticated designs that feel accessible to a multitude of customers and maximize the natural cotton fabric,” says Berkus. “I took inspiration from the diamond and star designs that were common in French decor in the 1930s and which makes these styles work well with any room.
The product launch showcase spared no expense in introducing a number of notable furnishings. With the launch of its Vienna collection, Century presented its Hague dining table. The curiously shaped table features a pedestal ball at its base and is available in a variety of finishes (75 finishes are available to choose from at Century). Showroom 58 has opted for the exotic with new pieces from Scala Luxury, including the Diamond Horn Chest in copper hues. Additional pieces from Scala Luxury are made from a mix of exotic materials including goatskin, shagreen and lizard, as well as gold and silver leaf.
For those who wish to venture outside, Logan Gardens has unveiled a line of outdoor furniture by interior designer Celerie Kemble for Lane Venture. Inspired by the sweetness of Palm Beach, Florida, the veranda-ready pieces also pay homage to Cuban style, Victorian wickerwork, and French Moroccan decor.
In addition to next month’s ADAC Digital Day, events taking place at ADAC this year include Design ADAC (April 23-25), the Southeast Designers and Architects of the Year Awards Gala. (April 25) and Discover ADAC (September 24-26).
