As the Memorial Day holiday approaches, area cemeteries have announced plans for decorating services and are seeking donations.
Salem Cemetery in Cliquot will hold decorating services on Sunday, May 15.
Salem Missionary Baptist Church will have morning services with Pastor Bro. Gayland Lightfoot brings the message.
A packed lunch will follow.
After lunch, there will be carols, including the Viles family.
Donations for cemetery care will be accepted that day or can be mailed to Salem Cemetery, c/o Jeannie Brown, Treasurer, 870 E. 385th Rd, Bolivar, MO 65613.
Star Ridge Cemetery
There is no official graveside decorating service scheduled at Star Ridge Cemetery on Sunday, May 15. However, those interested in maintenance or making a donation for cemetery upkeep can contact Mick Hood at 417-399-8981 or Janice Pavey at 417-777-2767. Donations can also be mailed to Mick Hood, PO Box 51, Bolivar, MO 65613.
Schofield Cemetery will hold decorating services on Sunday, May 22.
Morning services will begin at 10:30 a.m. with Bro. Jerry Grant delivering the memorial message. The Schofield Cemetery Association will hold its annual general meeting after the message.
A packed lunch on site will follow the morning service.
Schofield Cemetery is located at 2334 Rt. EE, Midway.
Brighton Cemetery Decorating Day will take place on Sunday 22 May. The Brighton Cemetery Annual Meeting will be held at 2 p.m. in the former Brighton Methodist Church.
Decorations left on the ground after Memorial Day must be removed for mowing and lawn maintenance by Friday evening, June 3.
The upkeep of the cemetery is made possible thanks to donations. Donations can be made during Decorating Day weekend on Saturday and Sunday May 21 and 22, Memorial Day weekend on Sunday and Monday May 29 and 30, or by post to Brighton Cemetery, PO Box 664, Brighton MO 65617.
Reed Cemetery will hold decorating services on Sunday, May 22. The Annual General Meeting is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in the Pavilion.

The Dunnegan Cemetery Annual Meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 28 in the pavilion area. If you cannot attend and wish to make a donation, it can be mailed to: Becky Peters, PO Box 302, Humansville, MO 65674.
Mount Olive Cemetery
The decoration will take place on Sunday, May 29 at Mt. Olive Cemetery. The business meeting will be at 1:00 p.m. at the cemetery. Donations for cemetery care can be mailed to Karen Stillings, 1740 E. 552nd Road, Brighton, MO 65617. Or call 417-326-4563
Plum Grove Cemetery
A cemetery board meeting will be held at Plum Grove Cemetery from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 29. Cemetery books will be available for purchase. For more information, call 417-654-2449.
The Antioch Cemetery in Pittsburgh is seeking donations to help with the upkeep and upkeep of the cemetery grounds. The cemetery relies on the support of the community and all donations are greatly appreciated.
