Decorative Arts Trust awards 14 research grants


The Decorative Arts Trust has announced that the 2022 Research Fellowships will be awarded to 14 recipients of PhD and Masters programmes.

Each year, the Trust awards research fellowships to graduate students working on a master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation in a field related to the decorative arts, encouraging projects that advance diversity in the study of American decorative arts.

The recipient of the Marie Zimmermann Fellowship, generously sponsored by the Marie & John Zimmermann Fund, is Emily Cox of Yale University.

The recipient of the DARTS grant, generously sponsored by the Decorative Arts Society of Orange County, is Olivia Armandoff of the University of Southern California.

The remaining 12 recipients are: Danielle Ezor of Southern Methodist University; Grace M. Ford-Dirks, Ann Carlton Hewitt, and Riley K. Richards of the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture, University of Delaware; Manon Gaudet of Yale University; Sarah E. Lund and Julia Silverman of Harvard University; Katherine Novko of the Cooperstown-SUNY Oneonta Graduate Program; Claire E. Sabitt of Princeton University; Olivia R. Scott of the Parsons School of Design; Amanda Thompson of the Bard Graduate Center; and Ashley E. Williams of Columbia University.
