The North West Hospital and Health Service (HHS) annual Christmas Decorating Contest was a resounding success, with record numbers of entries delighting patients and staff alike. The competition, now in its eighth edition, received 25 entries from across the region. North West HHS General Manager Craig Carey said seeing the staff compete and share the Christmas spirit was uplifting for all. “It is wonderful to walk through the doors of the hospital and feel the festive atmosphere,” said Mr. Carey. “It’s special to see the staff and patients smile as they walk the halls and bring extra joy to those who are hospitalized during the Christmas season.” The Mount Isa Hospital Auxiliary donated chocolates to attendees, food baskets for four major category winners and a catered lunch for the grand champion. “The staff at North West HHS have worked tirelessly this year and we are thrilled to give back to a team that gives so much to the community, said Sandra McGrady, Assistant President of Mount Isa Hospital. The 2021 winners are Cloncurry Aged Care (Best Recycled Posting), Maternal, Child and Family Health (Best Thematic Posting), Medical Records (Most Creative Posting), Doomadgee Hospital (Community Representative) and Children’s Ward as Grand Champion General for 2021.
